Grow Financial Hosts USF Students for Networking Event

The benefits of networking have no parallel. Grow Financial hosted USF Muma College of Business students from the Bulls Business Community and Zimmerman Advertising Program on Wednesday, April 10, for a networking event. This event is an annual highlight for Grow’s CEO, Robert Fisher, and who also serves on USF’s Muma College of Business Executive Advisory Council.

“We’re pleased to have hosted USF students again this year,” Fisher said. “This event has always been about the students, the young people who are the future of our country and the future of our business.”

One of the advantages of being a part of the Bulls Business Community and Zimmerman Advertising Program is the opportunity to gain real-world experience. Be it through enjoying exclusive programs such as “Business Etiquette,” “Dress for Success” and “Résumé Building” or studying abroad and special networking opportunities such as the annual event with Grow Financial. And these students surely showed off how they are putting these skills to good use!

“You can never underestimate the power of networking. Good things happen through networking” said Moez Limayem, the Dean of the USF Muma College of Business who accompanied the students.

Networking doesn’t necessarily come easy, and it’s a skill you have to hone throughout your career, so this event was a win-win for the students and the Grow team. We were honored to give these students a chance to try out their networking skills on our executives and employees in fields ranging from accounting and marketing to operations and human relations.

Limayem encouraged the students to meet, really meet—not just shake hands with a quick “hi” and “bye”—and have meaningful conversation and follow up with at least three people at the networking event. He added, “this has been a flagship program for USF, for our students, and I want to thank all of the Grow Financial team for the continued support.”

A final key lesson for everyone in attendance came from Fisher who said, “You never know who you are going to run into, it could be someone who changes your life.”

Thank you to the USF Muma College of Business students and faculty who joined us for this networking event!
