Make Good Things Grow on May Day

When you think May Day, you probably imagine children in flower crowns running bright ribbons around a pole to celebrate the warmer days ahead. But today, it’s much more common for May 1 to include random acts of kindness as neighbors leave baskets of flowers or other goodies on each other’s doorsteps.

This year, get creative and do some good on May Day with these cheap and easy DIY flower cones for your neighborhood! We’ll show you how…

Start by gathering your materials. Here’s what you’ll need: paper, scissors, hole punch, string, double-sided tape, flowers and any other decorations you’d like to use.

Take a square sheet of pretty paper and roll it into a cone. Use double-sided tape to hold the shape.

Punch one hole on either side of the cone. Put string through the holes, tying knots on each side to secure.

Fill the cone with flowers and add decorative tags or stickers as desired.

Hang the cone on someone’s front door to celebrate May Day! Leave it for a friend, family member, neighbor or even a stranger for a truly random act of kindness. Make good things grow!
