Grow Financial Hosts Earth Day Tree Giveaway

It’s better to grow together! Grow Financial celebrated Earth Day by hosting a free tree giveaway on Thursday and Friday, April 19-20.

For Grow’s seventh annual tree giveaway, members of the community in West central Florida and the Columbia and Charleston areas of South Carolina were able to stop by any one of Grow’s 26 stores to pick up a free Dahoon Holly tree.

“Our tree giveaway for Earth Day is just one example of our efforts to be an active part of our local communities,” Jared Barr, Grow’s VP of Marketing, said. “We want our members to know we are here to serve their banking needs in our stores but also to support the causes they care about in the community.”

That community support covers a wide range of causes from serving veterans to funding cancer research to benefitting the environment.

The tree giveaway offers a chance to focus on the planet while teaming up with partners at the Tampa Bay Times. The Times’ pressroom manager, Eric Scott, helps to coordinate the tree giveaway every year.

“Planting a tree is one of the most important things we can do to help reduce energy costs, prevent soil erosion, sequester carbon and provide habitat for birds and wildlife,” Scott said. “The Tampa Bay Times is proud to partner with Grow Financial to recognize Earth Day and celebrate it with our community.”

Thank you to everyone who celebrated Earth Day with us by getting a Dahoon Holly from the tree giveaway! Please don’t forget to plant your tree to make a difference this year!
