What do you get when you combine the initiative of the wonderful folks at Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough with the diligent work of our favorite professional football team? The Holiday Home Build with the Bucs! We were thrilled to be part of this important project that turned an empty lot into homes for local families in Tampa Bay.

About the Holiday Home Build with the Bucs

You may have seen stories floating around your local news sphere, like this one or this one, about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers showing up in a major way to help build homes for local residents in need. The Holiday Home Build with the Bucs, spearheaded by Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough, turned a parcel of land adjacent to Grow’s Temple Terrace location into homes for four local families in need. We were so glad to partner with Hillsborough County as part of this much-needed affordable housing initiative.

Part of Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough’s “Giving Tuesday” raised funds to contribute to the project, and donors included many Bucs players, as well as comedians Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer. Bucs players and local volunteers rolled up their sleeves and went to work on the construction and beautification of the homes from the ground up. When the homes were ready for the big reveal, Bucs players attended the ceremony and passed the keys to the new homeowners.

Jared Barr, SVP of Marketing, attended the ceremony on behalf of Grow. He shared, “The atmosphere was infectiously joyful. Everyone on the build site — local leaders, volunteers and Bucs players alike — had worked selflessly to complete this project. Watching an empty lot turn into affordable housing was truly incredible, and I’m so happy Grow was able to be a part of it.”
