Grow Financial Participates in Peanut Butter & Jelly Ministry

We all need help sometimes, so Grow Financial is helping the less fortunate by participating in the Peanut Butter & Jelly Ministry Program with the Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon, Florida.

More than 50 team members gathered in the break room at Grow’s headquarters to assemble peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, which will be delivered to the church and then distributed to those in need. Grow’s new Digital Transformation Team organized the volunteer event with the help of Marianne O’Donnell, Agile Project Analyst.

“Digital Transformation came up with the idea to move this ministry to headquarters to allow all team members, even those who struggle with having the time and approval for volunteer opportunities, to participate,” O’Donnell said.

The Peanut Butter & Jelly Ministry Program meets twice each week and donates sandwiches to the homeless and schools in Hillsborough County. Last year, volunteers made 58,599 sandwiches to share through the program. Thanks to their efforts today, Grow team members are proud to add more than 1,000 to this year’s sandwich totals.

“Volunteering helps the community by empowering non-profit organizations to provide food and services for the less fortunate,” O’Donnell said. “These organizations are then able to keep costs down, and in the end, reach more in need.”
