Grow Financial Participates in the Credit Unions Care Challenge

If you follow us on social media, you may have read about Grow On Us, an initiative we launched to help small businesses and bring some much-needed joy to the community, in the wake of the pandemic’s negative impact to our local economy. Through Grow On Us, we supported 27 local businesses and gave away more than 13,000 meals, treats and other specialty products. At each giveaway event, we opened a tab at the business so community members were able to enjoy a freebie, paid for by Grow Financial. Our Tampa Bay campaign ran May through August 2020, and we’re excited to bring another phase of Grow On Us to our South Carolina communities for the fall.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t give a big thank you to the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation (SECUF) for its generous support of almost $15,000 during the Credit Unions Care Challenge. SECUF is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving credit unions in Alabama, Florida and Georgia through its efforts of charity, community and cooperation, with a vision to enrich and elevate our communities by applying the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.” We’re so thankful SECUF saw the good we were doing with Grow On Us and wanted to support our efforts.

As part of the Credit Unions Care Challenge, SECUF put out the call to action for credit unions to do good in their communities, promising that if an eligible credit union accepted the challenge, SECUF would match up to $25 per employee for the credit union to make an additional positive impact in their community. Because of the matching funds SECUF provided, we were able to host three additional Grow On Us events at Fabrica Pizza, Pop Goes the Waffle and 4 Rivers BBQ, increasing the reach and duration of our campaign and allowing us to share even more joy. Thank you so much, SECUF!
