Growing Your Career: Pathways from Relationship Specialist to Branch Supervisor
Many people are looking for more than just a job. They’re looking for a career path that offers stability, growth and opportunity. At Grow Financial, our team members join us from all walks of life, with a variety of experiences, backgrounds and skill sets. We all come together around the central mission of serving people, regardless of our specific roles — Relationship Specialists, Loan Resolution Specialists, IT Support professionals, Mortgage Loan Officers and many more. Our team members are encouraged to explore different areas within the credit union and discover new passion areas to grow their careers. We’re focused on promoting from within and cross-training, and our Relationship Specialists learn the ins and outs of many member services, with the ability to advance as they gain new experiences. In fact, many members of our management and leadership teams at Grow started as Relationship Specialists in our stores or in similar roles at other financial institutions. We love nothing more than to see our team members flourish here, growing to new heights personally and professionally.
Let us introduce Tony Pittman, Branch Supervisor at our Gandy location. Tony took the time to share his personal career journey and offer inspiration for anyone interested in learning more about careers with Grow.
Meet Tony Pittman, Branch Supervisor
Tony found Grow when he was looking for a job with purpose. Wanting more from his career than previous jobs had provided, he sought out a role where he could truly make a difference in the lives of the people he interacted with on a daily basis. He didn’t have direct experience with banking, but he had a passion for service, transferable skills, a great attitude and an interest in learning about the financial industry. He joined our South Tampa store team in 2012 as a Relationship Specialist, an entry-level position which provides a personal level of service and connection for our members. Through this role, Tony enjoyed developing an expansive knowledge of financial services, as well as forming personal relationships with our members and other team members. He said, “My job is to serve people, helping them grow and putting them in the best possible position, whether financially or emotionally through human connection. This service mentality is at the heart of our organization.”
Within a short time, Tony was promoted several times, reaching higher levels in our Relationship Specialist role and moving to our St. Petersburg store before becoming Grow’s first “Floating Relationship Specialist” for our west region — a true expert of all things related to serving our credit union members. In 2017, his diligence and excellent work led him to another promotion to the role of Branch Supervisor, back at his original Grow home, our South Tampa store located on Gandy Boulevard.

In conversation with Tony, he emphasized his personal motto: “You have limitless potential.” He believes career journeys have no limits at Grow, regardless of your background and where you start. Over his time with Grow, he has developed influence in the organization, using his own leadership style and personality to connect with his team, while continually bringing to the table new ideas for us to improve.
“If you join the team ready to work, serve and challenge yourself, you will truly have unlimited potential for new opportunities here. When I joined Grow, I did not know much about the financial industry, but with training and being invested in my job, I was able to learn quickly and grow professionally. This organization is a place where we want team members to get promoted, learn about other areas of the credit union and grow throughout their careers,” Tony said. We couldn’t agree more!

How to Find Your Routing & Account Numbers
When you make a payment online, by phone or on a mobile device, you may be asked for our routing number and your checking account number. Credit unions and banks use these numbers to identify accounts and make sure money gets where it’s supposed to be. You’ll also need to provide your routing and checking account numbers for:
- Direct deposits
- Electronic checks
- Military allotments
- Wire transfers
Where to Find Your Routing & Checking Account Numbers
Your personal checks include both our routing number and your account number, as shown on the Grow check example below.
Don’t have a Grow check? No worries.
Visit any Grow store and ask for a Direct Deposit Form. It lists both your routing number and checking account number.
Making a Loan Payment
When it comes to making payments, we try to make it as painless as possible to pay your loan every month. We have several different ways to pay, including convenient online options.
You have two ways to pay online by transferring funds from another bank or credit union.
- Grow Online Banking (Preferred payment method for any loan)
This is the simplest way to pay your loan. You can make one-time payments or set up automatic recurring payments in Grow Online Banking. Once you log in, select “Transfer/Payments” from the menu. If you’re not enrolled in Grow Online Banking yet, you can set up your account in just a few minutes.
- Debit Card or ACH (Available for auto, personal loans and HELOCs)
Note: ACH and debit card payments are not available for credit cards or most mortgages, except HELOCs.
We accept ACH payments with no additional fees or Mastercard® and Visa® debit cards with a convenience fee of $4.95. To get started with an online ACH or debit card payment, select Pay Now below.
Pay by Mail
You can also pay any Grow loan by check through the mail. Please remember to include your account number and Grow loan number on the check. (For credit card payments, please do not write your 16-digit credit card number on the check, which can cause a delay in processing the payment.)
