Our Story

Founded on MacDill Air Force Base

Our story started in 1955 in Tampa, Florida, when a group of civilian employees on MacDill Air Force Base recognized a need: Service members and their families deserved access to fair, trustworthy financial services. So this ambitious group created a credit union, using a broom closet as their first office location. The start may have been small, but the purpose was major from day one: Take care of people, especially those who serve others.

Over the decades, we expanded beyond our military roots, welcoming members throughout the broader community and opening store locations throughout West Central Florida and in Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina.

Today, we provide a comprehensive array of personal and business financial services with a focus on our founding mission: We serve people, not profit.^®
