We had the opportunity to interview our business member, Brook May, president and founder of The Orchid Group — a Tampa-based, full-service construction, development and program management firm. Brooke May has called Tampa home since 1999, and it’s clear that her love for the region runs deep. A graduate of the University of Tampa, she brings more than 20 years of experience across every aspect of the construction industry — from contracting to development and everything in between. “Tampa is a very unique place to build. Florida, in general, has its own building code, which a lot of people don’t know,” May explained. “They’re coming to Tampa to invest in the community, and we want to make sure that every dollar they spend is money well spent.”
